JKSSB Junior Assistant Type Test Rescheduled: New Dates for Jammu, Srinagar

JKSSB Reschedules Junior Assistant Type Test Due to Bad Weather: Check New Dates

If you were preparing to appear for the Junior Assistant Type Test (Skill Test) this week, here's an update you need to know. The Jammu & Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has postponed the test at both Jammu and Srinagar centres because of inclement weather. A fresh schedule has now been issued, and we've broken it down for you below.

Who does this affect

This change applies to candidates who were scheduled to appear for the Junior Assistant Type Test at NIELIT Jammu or NIELIT Srinagar between 27th and 29th July 2026. If your exam fell within this window at either centre, you are affected and need to note your new date.

What has changed

The Type Test was originally planned on 27th, 28th, and 29th July 2026 at NIELIT Jammu, and on 27th and 28th July 2026 at NIELIT Srinagar. Due to bad weather conditions, JKSSB has pushed these dates forward. Here is how your new schedule looks, depending on your centre and your original date.

New Dates for NIELIT Jammu

If your test was on 27th July 2026, it will now be held on 25th August 2026. If your test was on 28th July 2026, it will now be held on 27th August 2026. If your test was on 29th July 2026, it will now be held on 31st August 2026.

New Dates for NIELIT Srinagar

If your test was on 27th July 2026, it will now be held on 30th July 2026. If your test was on 28th July 2026, it will now be held on 31st July 2026.

You'll notice that Srinagar candidates have a much shorter gap compared to Jammu candidates, so if you are appearing at NIELIT Srinagar, don't relax too much. Your revised test is only a few days away.

What you need to do

You don't need to apply for anything new or download a fresh admit card. JKSSB has clearly stated that your existing admit card remains valid for the rescheduled date. Just hold on to the same admit card and carry it with you on your new test date.

You are also expected to appear at the same examination centre and report at the same time mentioned on your admit card. So if your original admit card asked you to reach by a certain hour, follow that same reporting time on the new date as well.

Important instructions to keep in mind

Since the centre, reporting time, and admit card all remain unchanged, the only thing you really need to update is the date in your diary or calendar. We'd suggest setting a reminder well in advance, especially if you're a Srinagar candidate with a test coming up on 30th or 31st July.

The notification doesn't mention any change in the exam pattern, syllabus, or duration of the Type Test, so you can continue preparing exactly as you were.

What happens next

There's nothing further you need to do at this stage. Just wait for your revised date to arrive and appear as instructed. If you want to double check your specific slot or need clarification, you can refer to the official JKSSB notification or visit www.jkssb.nic.in.
